Hello Fellow Americans And Friends
Welcome to the Americans Living in Cebu website.
My name is Paul Peabody, I am a retired businessman originally from the states but living in Cebu, the place I now call home.
I found my own little paradise here in Cebu City and many others have followed their dreams to make Cebu their home as well.
Americans Living in Cebu is a general information site intended to guide new expats and visitors from all countries to the best places and things that Cebu has to offer. We will also point out the negative aspects of living in a third world country and guide you through the culture shock that is common to all new visitors.
Our objective is to give honest opinions and advice for any questions or help you may need. Our primary focus is Cebu but all areas of the country are open for discussion. The topics will cover anything pertaining to expat life: visa information, banking, accommodations, nightlife, relationships, legal problems are all fair game.
Our forum is unlike some others, there is no white washing or sugar-coating the facts. We will not actively moderate the postings of our members so be aware that our forum could be blunt, direct, and at times contentious. Our intent is to give our members as much freedom and leeway as possible to give real world, practical advice and to give new expats a place to discuss issues that affect Americans and others living or moving to the Philippines.
Although we call our site Americans Living in Cebu, and most of the members are originally from the US, visitors from all countries are welcome and encouraged to share their experiences, good and bad.
